  • The vehicles must comply with the safety requirements in accordance with the general regulations in motor sport.
  • Racing tires without tread pattern (slicks) are allowed.
  • Open vehicles (convertibles) are not permitted.

Drivers clothing:

  • For the protection of your passenger use a driver suit with at least single-layer flame retardant.
  • We would like to point out that we will be performing increased enforcement of protective clothing for passengers this year.
  • Cheap driver suits with high temperature resistant fabrics like Nomex-or Aramid-fiber or available from various manufacturers.
  • The use of a garment without adequate flame retardant effect - especially mechanic overalls which just mimic a driver suit but contain a large amount of highly flammable synthetic fiber - is not permitted.
  • Neither for the driver nor the passenger sport seats are approved. Only seats in accordance with the general regulations in motorsport are to be used.
  • Vehicles that do not meet safety standards can be dismissed without cause.

Further Notes:

  • At end of event (18:00) o’clock all racing cars must have left the track. Therefore the last drive on the Nordschleife has o start 10 minutes bevor end.
  • Please reduce your speed significantly in the cool down lap on the GP circuit (traffic lights red - yellow flashing lights switched on), to minimize risk to our staff on the track.
  • The yellow line in the pit lane may only be exceeded by team personnel.
  • The event schedule is controlled by marshals, their instructions must be followed strictly.
  • This is in the interest of general safety. Please contribute to the protection of your guests health and safety.
  • In recent years, we often had to close down the racing track to ensure the safety of the casualty, our employees and rescue personnel in case of accidents. This meant that you were repeatedly not able to offer all your sponsors a ride in your race car. To minimize these track closures in the future, however, we are relying on your cooperation.
  • We have significantly increased the number of marshals (recognizable by their red warning vests) in order to make you even better aware of peril points.
  • In case of an premature abandonment of the set-up session, no entry fee refund is possible.

Driving Regulations:

  • REACHING THE SPEED LIMIT AND COMPETITIVE RACES ARE PROHIBITED.
  • VIOLATIONS RESULT IN IMMEDIATE EXCLUSION OF THE EVENT; NO ENTRY FEE REFUND.
  • Pit lane speed limit: 30 km / h

If a marshal is waving the yellow flag:

  • This means a significant peril point and you must drive in accordance with the provisions of the VLN.
  • Do not overtake. Get ready to stop immediately.
  • There is an Intervention- or e-UNIT vehicle on the track. The speed must be reduced to 60 km / h.
  • After a few hundred meters the next marshal shows the green flag. Only from that point on faster driving is allowed again.

If a marshal shows the yellow flag without waving it:

  • This represents a permanent peril point such as a vehicle with a technical problem on the hard shoulder or the track itself. In this section you also must drive at an appropriate/reduced speed. This represents a permanent peril point such as a vehicle with a technical problem on the hard shoulder or the track itself. In this section you also must drive at an appropriate/reduced speed.

The marshals are instructed to report every violation oft he rules by participants. We will conduct velocity measurements in hazardous areas.

In case of violations, we will exclude the team from the event without warning.

We think that driving a few hundred meters at a maximum speed of 60 km / h (no overtaking!) is less annoying than cancelling a whole set-up session with red due to some undisciplined drivers.

If you have created a dangerous situation due to a technical fault or an accident, you are legally obliged to minimize the risks and warn others according to your options.

Leaving a rollable vehicle on the road is a significant and preventable risk potential.

In case of emergency move your vehicle by engine power onto the hard shoulder or try to exploit the natural track gradient. A vehicle with a defective clutch is still limited mobile.

Should these measures be unknown to you, ask one of your experienced teammates for an instruction.

To leave the vehicle on the track is forbidden; as long as no emergency situation exists.

All those measures will help

  • to make these two hours calculable for you.
  • our rescue personnel in case of an accident to work in safety.
  • to make this ride an unforgettable experience for your sponsors.
  • We would like to ask for your help to translate this concept into practice.
  • In the end we all want an accident-free, full two-hour drive and lots of fun on "Our Nordschleife"

Noise protection measures:

All vehicles must be equipped with transponders and start numbers. These transponders are handed out in the administrative check of the MH Sportpromotion as early as Friday 12:00 o’clock. Non-participants in the VLN will there be assigned a starting number and a transponder for the set-up session.

Due to the requirements of the Nürburgring operation society we face large fines if participants fail repeatedly against the noise regulations.

The amounts provided are:

  • € 5.000, - (five thousand) in the first episode violation
  • Increase of € 10.000, - (ten thousand) in the second episode violation
  • Increase of € 20.000, - (twenty thousand) in the third episode violation.

Entries completed later than 1 hour before the event, might lead to delayed access to the track for this vehicle. The noise measurement board of the operator needs this time to enter your data and for the activation of the transponder.

For participants of the VLN the existing transponder can be used for noise measurement. However, the transponder number must be specified at administrative check of MH-Sport Promotion.

Non-participants in the VLN must receive a transponder at administrative checks of MH-Sport Promotion and fix it to the vehicle. The handing out oft the transponder is connected with a deposit fee of  250,- € and a rental fee of  20,- €. The transponder is to be given back until 19:00 o’clock to the administrative check of MH sports promotion.

At the exit from the pit lane control of the transponder is performed.

A noise level measuring system is installed on the Nordschleife which is based on three permanent monitoring stations.

These monitoring stations detect the noise level of passing racing cars.

The transponder assigns the measured noise level to the transponder numbers when passing, and thus to the related vehicles.

For a peak level is not distorted by the nearly simultaneous passage of several vehicles, measurements from different measurement points are to be used for evaluation.

"Noise polluters" have to leave the track at the start and finish immediately.

Re-approved access to the race track is only possible after consultation with the noise measurement board at start and finish. It is located in the starter tower at the beginning of the pit lane.

At 18:00 o’clock all race cars must have left the track. Therefore the last drive on the Nordschleife has to start at 17:50 o’clock. Possibly - depending on weather conditions - even a few minutes earlier.

Please reduce your speed significantly in the cool down lap on the GP circuit (traffic lights red - yellow flashing lights switched on), to minimize risk to our staff on the track.

An entry fee refund for exclusion due to a breach of the noise protection measures is not possible.
